Odds formats explained
Decimal, fractional and American odds definitions
Decimal odds
Decimal odds show the total return for every unit staked. Odds of 2.50 mean every £1 returns £2.50 if the bet wins, including the original stake.
Fractional odds
Fractional odds show profit relative to stake. Odds of 5/2 mean £2 staked can make £5 profit, plus the original £2 stake back if successful.
American odds
Positive American odds show profit from a 100-unit stake. Negative American odds show how much you need to stake to make 100 units profit.
Implied probability
Implied probability converts odds into a percentage chance suggested by the price. It is not a guarantee and does not remove bookmaker margin.

How to use it
How this odds converter helps football bettors
Correct score markets often use larger prices than match result markets, so understanding implied probability is important. A scoreline priced at 13.00 may look attractive, but the implied probability is only 7.69% before bookmaker margin.
Use the converter to compare the price with your own view of the match. If your estimate of the chance is lower than the implied probability, the odds may not offer value. If your estimate is higher, the price may be worth deeper analysis — but it still does not guarantee a profitable bet.

FAQ
Odds converter FAQ
What is an odds converter?
An odds converter changes a betting price between decimal, fractional and American formats. This page also calculates implied probability, total return and profit from a chosen stake.
How do decimal odds work?
Decimal odds show total return per unit staked. A £10 stake at 2.50 returns £25 if the bet wins, including the original stake.
How do I calculate implied probability?
For decimal odds, divide 100 by the price. Decimal odds of 4.00 imply 25% before bookmaker margin.
Which odds format is best?
Decimal odds are usually easiest for return calculations. Fractional odds remain common in the UK, while American odds are common in the United States.
Can an odds converter predict winners?
No. It only converts prices and performs calculations. It cannot predict football results and should not be treated as betting advice.
